One of our first projects in 2016 was to provide middle and high school girls with 'summer kits', a package of 3-months worth of feminine products to use during the summer, when a trip to the nurse's office isn't an option.
Two years later, we're continuing that effort through a generous grant from the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills (JLOSH). This summer, 100 middle school girls in need in the Oranges, Maplewood, and Millburn schools will receive a package of feminine products and other personal products.
They'll also receive a copy of the 'The Confidence Code for Girls', by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman. Why? Because 28 Days' mission is about raising the confidence of women and girls in need. The book is full of scenarios, tips and tools girls can use to navigate friendships, relationships, and emotions that are part of the teen-age world. Lastly, the kit will include a teen-driven newsletter, with articles written by teens for teens.
We're thankful to JLOSH for their partnership in connecting with girls in need!
